Hello! I’m Malcolm and I’m currently a student at the University of Teesside studying Computer Games Programming.
When I’m not coding or learning to code I like to unwind by watching anime or a good RTS/RPG game. I also like to watch professional level Starcraft 2 games. I understand that the idea of watching other people play video games might seem a little crazy but I encourage you to give it a chance
Although completely unmotivated at school I eventually found myself working for The Open University and, after a few courses in computing, found that I wanted to be a programmer. So I starting part-time study while working and, two years down the line, I manage to get my way into one of the best Computer Games Programming courses in the UK that even has Skillset accreditation. I was even lucky enough to find some freelance web-development work, and have since expanded my knowledge to jQuery and WordPress as you can see here, and still continue to pick up some work in that area from time to time.
This past year has been extraordinarily fun as well as challenging and I wouldn’t have it any other way. The way I see it; the satisfaction of creating an application/game is not unlike the feeling you get when you create a really good drawing or painting. While I lack skill with a pen or pencil; I can code. This is essentially what drives me to learn more and fuels my ambition. Above all it never stops being fun, so I never have experienced the feeling of coding being a chore or work. Being a programmer is the dream job for me.
If you’d like to get in contact with me please head over to my main site.
Always believe in yourself. Chase the dream.
